Notif vs Todoist (2026): a reminders app or a task manager?
Todoist is a task manager for every platform and every team. Notif is a reminders app for iPhone that adds something worth knowing and the next step to each note
Todoist and Notif get compared because both live on your iPhone and both deal with things you need to do. They're built for different jobs. I make Notif, so weigh this accordingly; where Todoist is the better choice, I'll say so.

Where Todoist is better
Todoist is everywhere: iPhone, Android, Mac, Windows, Linux, the web, both kinds of watch, browser extensions and email add-ons. Typing "pay rent every 1st" makes a recurring task without touching a date picker. It has projects, sections, labels, filters and boards, and it's built for sharing work with other people. Since January 2026, Ramble lets you talk through what you need to do and turns it into tasks. If your tasks are projects with other people in them, Todoist is the stronger tool.
Where Notif is better
Notif does less organising and more of the doing. You write a note the way you'd say it, and Notif adds:
- Insight, something worth knowing about what you wrote
- Action Button, the next step: call a contact, get directions, link to a site or open the app
- Chat, to ask anything and learn more about what's in your note
"Dinner at Lucali Friday night" came back with Lucali doesn't take reservations and only accepts cash, so plan to line up early, and directions. "Book a table at Sistina" came back with call well ahead since prime weekend times fill up fast, and a button that opens Sistina's page on OpenTable. A task list can't tell you either of those.
It's also closer to your iPhone. Every note is an Apple reminder, so it's on your Mac and Apple Watch through Reminders. Siri adds a note without opening anything, there's a Lock Screen widget, and there's no account to make. Your notes are never stored on Notif's servers, and a note you mark Private (Pro) never leaves your phone.
Which should you use?
- Team projects, Android or Windows: Todoist
- Personal errands on iPhone, with the details and the next step on the note: Notif
- Both: Todoist for work, Notif for everything else

Not on its own. Todoist keeps your tasks in its own account, and linking it to Reminders takes a Shortcut or a third-party service. Notif's notes are Apple reminders, so they're in Reminders on all your Apple devices
